"Detroit Athletic Club News" - 1940s

The Detroit Athletic Club was founded in 1887. It is a private membership club with its own monthly periodical The D.A.C. News, which was first published in 1916. Syd contributed many cartoons over the years. We appreciate their support and are pleased to share this small sample of his cartoons which appeared in the 1940s.

"To put it into language you can understand Mrs. Green, you eat too dammed much!"

"As good as new? Couldn't you make him a little better?"

"...but not so built-up that I become muscle bound."

"Street floor - notions, stationary, fountain pens, books, and pickets." - 1947

"Never mind the way you learned it."

"This is my wife - I'd like to have my eyes examined."
